Penn And Teller – Fool Us is a magic competition TV show that features magicians who perform tricks in front of American magician-comedian duo Penn & Teller. The show’s initial two seasons were hosted capably by Jonathan Ross, and the 4th season by the Fool Us Host Alyson Hannigan.

Each episode starts off by introducing the purpose of the series. Penn & Teller come out and sit down at the center stage. They watch hopeful magicians perform their acts before them, in front of an audience of live viewers. After each performance, Penn & Teller privately talk while the host interview the magicians. Penn & Teller then reveal if they know how the trick was executed, usually using cryptic language or recording the technique and then present it to the magicians for confirmation, the method, in order to avoid approaching public disclosure of the secrets behind the trick.

The Worst Five Penn and Teller: Fool Us Winners

Fool Us was filmed at Fountain Studios in London, England (season one) as well as the Penn and Teller Theater located in Las Vegas (season two onward). After each performance, when Penn & Teller cannot figure out how a trick was performed, the magician(s) that performed it are awarded a Fool Us trophy and a five-star flight for a trip to Las Vegas to perform as the opening act of Penn & Teller’s show which is also held at The Rio Hotel & Casino.

17th of October 2021.

If the trick is authentic, or Penn & Teller are unable to determine how it was achieved, the magician wins an award called a Fool Us award and the possibility of performing as the opening act in Penn Teller’s Las Vegas show.

A backstage judge who is knowledgeable in the art of magic, and has witnessed the trick before the performance, makes the necessary changes, whether Penn & Teller were fooled and, if so, to what degree.

In the final moments of each show, Penn & Teller perform a unique magic act.

For the first season, Jonathan Ross served as a temporary replacement for Penn and Teller’s hosting duties, but they returned for the next season.

It was filmed on Fountain Studios in London, England for its first season, before moving to Penn & Teller Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada for the second season, and later seasons.
